Presenter and chef Joe Hurd headed up this travel programme for travellers on a budget.
Fabio Di Segni was asked to come up with 5 great things to do in Milan – that were free or cost very little! No problem! He found several fun things for Joe to do. Like taking part in a very Italian sport, bocciofila, a bit like boules. And drinking miracle water from an ancient spring in one of Milan’s up-and-coming trendy areas. Then there’s Ballo Liscio, the old-fashioned ball-room style dancing that Italians still love. Joe visited an outdoor one with a huge dance floor where you could eat authentic Italian dishes cooked up by Mamma Rita! And to get around, all he had to do was to hop on a scooter in the scooter-sharing scheme. A great way to visit one of the evening markets in Milan.
Through his knowledge of Italy and Italian culture, and contacts in all the various regions, Fabio Di Segni can put together a great shoot itinerary, with activities that are genuinely Italian and not your run-of-the-mill tourist offering. ITALYfixer provided all production services, including gaining access and film permits to San Siro football stadium, the roof top of the Duomo and many other great locations. Fabio organized crew transport and accommodation and oversaw the logistics of the shoot.
5 Best Things to Do in Milan was produced by the Scripps Network and broadcast on-line in 2016.
